Supervisory Board

The supervisory board

Since 16 September 2024, the Samenwerkingsverband Primair Onderwijs Amsterdam Diemen has been a foundation. From then on, we will have an independent supervisory board (RvT), consisting of a minimum of three and a maximum of five members. In school year 2024-2025, the RvT adopted the supervisory framework. Supervision focuses on ensuring the rights of all students and promoting an inclusive, safe and non-discriminatory school culture. It also looks at whether policies and measures truly contribute to equal opportunities and the right of every child to participate fully.

The supervisory board meets five times a year. It also meets twice a year with the support plan council and immediate delegation from the participants' council.

Duties of the supervisory board

The Supervisory Board integrally supervises the policy of the director-director, the performance of the statutory duties and the general course of affairs within the partnership and the partnership's implementing organisation. The council regularly discusses this with the director-director and also obtains information from key stakeholders, such as the municipality, the participants' council (the school boards), the support plan council and the professionals.

In addition, the supervisory board is the formal employer of the director-director of the partnership and is also a sparring partner for the director-director.

Members of the supervisory board

The supervisory board consists of five members:
Roland Boom, Anoesjka Imambaks, Jayani Masthoff, René Peeters, Dirkjan Stevens (chairman).

Anushka Imambaks

Anoesjka is a public administration expert with extensive experience in the central government in the fields of education, entrepreneurship and innovation. She is a supervisor in the Rotterdam education and culture sector, and an entrepreneur in the hospitality and food world. One thing is central to her work: people. She focuses on building inclusive communities, developing talent and creating opportunities for all. From her background in leadership and social innovation, Anoesjka is committed to creating an educational environment where equity, diversity and collaboration are natural.

‘I believe real growth begins when people feel seen, connected and free to become who they can be.’

Dirkjan Stevens

Dirkjan Stevens is currently working as a consultant and interim manager at the Galan Group. He was involved in the preparation and set-up of the Unita partnership (in the Gooi & Vecht region); first as a member of the board and then as a supervisor. During that period, Unita proved to be a successful partnership in the field of appropriate education. Dirkjan initiated and realised the transition to independent supervision at Unita.

‘In this work, I have found that education is not always well aligned with social demands. Primary education has the task of getting children to learn, by whatever means. I believe the partnership should develop into a partner of the teacher and the school. Schools and teachers have the most and most direct influence on the learning process. The stronger the care structure in schools, the more students can develop in their own schools. That is why I believe there is a need for a policy-rich partnership.’

Jayani Masthoff

Jayani Masthoff studied cognitive neuropsychology with a specialisation in education. She is director of Gold Vision, a consultancy that guides organisations in education, healthcare and government in inclusive culture development and leadership. In everything she does, Jayani looks for connection between people, stories and systems. From her background in psychology and leadership development, she wants to contribute to a world where differences do not separate, but instead form the basis for understanding, growth and cooperation.

‘I want to contribute to that every person can be who they are, and become who they are even more.’

René Peeters

René Peeters is active on a variety of fronts in the field of appropriate education. During his time as alderman of Almere, his responsibilities included youth care and education. With his broad experience and substantive involvement in inclusive and appropriate education as well as youth care, he brings valuable expertise.

Roland Boom

Roland Boom is currently an alderman for the municipality of Huizen. Before that, he worked as a director and administrator in education. His administrative experience and knowledge of the education field are an important reinforcement for the council.
