Filing an appeal against a decision

If parents disagree with the decision of the partnership about an admission statement for special primary education (sbo) or special education (so), you can lodge an objection. You have six weeks after the final decision on the admission statement to do so.  

  • You can submit the objection by mail or e-mail to the director-director of the partnership:

  • The objection shall contain at least:
    > Your name, address and e-mail address
    > Name and date of birth of pupil
    > A date
    > A description of the decision against which the objection is directed
    > Substantiation of the objection
  • You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt within five working days. We will prepare a statement of defence. Together with your notice of objection and the student file, we will submit this statement of defence to the National Advisory Committee on Admissions. This committee is part of the Stichting Onderwijsgeschillen, see also www.onderwijsgeschillen.nl. The National Advisory Committee on Objections invites all parties for a hearing and then makes a decision. The decision usually takes between four and six weeks.
  • In some cases, when we receive an objection, we will first have a conversation with you. During the conversation, you can explain your objection. The purpose of the meeting is to explain how the decision was made, to listen to each other properly on both sides and to reach a solution. If the discussion does not lead to a solution, we will submit the case to the National Objection Advisory Committee.
